My Summertime Reading Wish List

I think at this point we can all agree that I’m not the best with sticking to reading goals… no comment. But I do have some books on my summer reading wish list that I hope to be getting from the library and diving into when it’s boiling outside and I find a spot of shade by the pool.
Two Parts Sugar, One Part Murder
“Maddy doesn’t bake, and her Louboutins aren’t made for walking giant dogs around Lake Michigan, but the locals are friendly and the scenery is beautiful. With help from her aunt’s loyal friends, a.k.a. The Baker Street Irregulars, Maddy feels ready to tackle any challenge, including Octavia’s award-winning cake recipes. That is, until New Bison’s mayor is fatally stabbed, and Maddy’s fingerprints are found on the knife . . .”
Honestly, I found it hard to read this description without wanting to buy Two Parts Sugar, One Part Murder, but I will show some restraint and wait and get it from the library. I also love that it’s part of a Baker Street mystery series (have I talked about my Sherlock Holmes obsession before?).
One Italian Summer

What spoke to me about One Italian Summer was the travel aspect, as well as the three-part description that just went deeper and deeper.
A Darker Shade of Magic
“After an exchange goes awry, Kell escapes to Grey London and runs into Delilah Bard, a cut-purse with lofty aspirations. She first robs him, then saves him from a deadly enemy, and finally forces Kell to spirit her to another world for a proper adventure.”
A Darker Shade of Magic has been on my TBR list for a long time, and this might just be the summer I finally read it!
The Lifeguards

I love a good suspenseful mystery, plus The Lifeguards feels like it has a lot of summery vibes!
The Atlas Six

During this time, they will be permitted access to the Society’s archives and judged on their contributions to arcane areas of knowledge. Five, they are told, will be initiated. Another one languishing away on my TBR list, The Atlas Six has been tempting me for months, so hopefully its time has come!
