Book Quotes: A Collection

Most people keep a notebook full of quotes that pop out, inspire, or simply speak to them. I fill my cork board with a billion little pieces of paper with quotes scribbled on them.

Usually I use a piece of paper as a bookmark specifically for this purpose, and I’ve always planned on typing them up, or taking them into Canva.com to do designy things with them, but that just hasn’t happened yet.

Besides, I kind of like my haphazard collection of inspiration.

So today, for a little #mondaymotivation, I pulled a few of my favorites to feature here.

“Courage is found in unlikely places.”

“You must learn how to become a deeply disciplined half-ass.”

Big Magic

by Elizabeth Gilbert

“I had got ‘out’ in some sense which made the Solar System itself seem like an indoor affair.”

The Great Divorce

“Some do not dance anything at all, but simply hold each other’s hands and allow the undisciplined joy of motion to express itself with their feet.”

The Jungle

by Upton Sinclair

“I believe in some blending of hope and sunshine sweetening the worst lots. I believe that this life is not all; neither the begining nor the end. I believe while I tremble; I trust while I weep.”

Villette

by Charlotte Brontë

“Easy money doesn’t weigh anything and it doesn’t give you that good feeling you get when you really earn it.”

One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich

by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
