Build a Jane Eyre-Themed Gift Box with Me

When it comes to classics, it’s hard to beat Jane Eyre. Summoning visions of misty moors, forlorn governesses, and men who just want to be happy but seem stymied at every turn, Jane Eyre creeps its way into the hearts of every reader. But there are always the ultra-fans. Those with multiple book copies and many memorized movie lines—to them, we give a Jane Eyre-themed gift box!

The season of gift-giving is upon us, but this is perfect for birthdays and general pick-me-up gifts as well!

The Book

Any good book-themed gift box has to start with a book. The thing is, the Jane Eyre fan on your list probably already has a copy or two. This is where the specialty illustrated Jane Eyre comes in, or a more unique cover. Or, go an alternative story-telling route with Manga Classics Jane Eyre or Public Works Steampunk Presents: Jane Eyre

If you don’t want to include a copy of Jane Eyre itself, there is also plenty of related literature that would be fun for any fan! Some great options include Becoming Jane Eyre by Sheila Kohler, Charlotte Brontë Before Jane Eyre by Glynnis Fawkes , et al., or Reader, I Married Him: Stories Inspired by Jane Eyre by Tracy Chevalier.

Stationary

Once you know if you’re including a book or not, and which one, it’s time to curate the rest of the gift box. I’d start with stationary type items. Pick one or two items that have a Jane Eyre twist or just remind you of the novel and characters. Chiltern Publishing has a Jane Eyre notebook that’s perfect. If you’re going the notebook route, don’t forget some pretty pens or Jane Eyre quote pencils

Jane Eyre Gifts

In addition to a book and stationary, there are plenty of other Jane Eyre-themed items out there that would make fantastic finishing touches to your gift box. The Jane Eyre Book Pin is a great place to start. Then there is the Thornfield Hall candle, the Jane Eyre Tote Bag, the book quote ornament, quote stickers, and library card bookmarks.

Additional Items

Not everything has to be Jane Eyre-themed. I love a good theme, but there is always a way to include things that suggest the theme without being too overt. So, I’d like to suggest some other items that remind me of Jane Eyre and would be a good addition to the gift box.

  1. Hair pins

  2. Brass bird sculptures

  3. Shawl or scarf

  4. Mini dried flower bouquet

Your gift box does not need to be big or include every item. A few things will do the trick and make a Jane Eyre fan very happy. These gifts are curated with the help of Bookshop.org, Amazon, Etsy, and Barnes and Noble, but there are lots of shops that sell beautiful literary-themed items!
